Second Harvest Food Bank's Community Food Distribution Programs

The Upperroom Bible Church delivers the Word of Faith with the people of New Orleans and the city’s surrounding areas. Dedicated to supporting the local community, the Upperroom Bible Church works in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank to feed over 3,000 people each month.

The largest charitable organization dedicated to ending hunger in South Louisiana, Second Harvest Food Bank delivers over 39 million pounds of food annually from its New Orleans and Lafayette-based warehouses. Second Harvest Food Bank widely distributes its food resources through several programs aimed at preventing hunger in adults and children.

The organization provides food resources to people experiencing economic instability and facilitates mobile and school pantries that distribute fresh foods and perishable items to locations where these foods are difficult to obtain. Second Harvest Food Bank also provides children with food through their Kids Café program when meals are not accessible at their schools and ensures children are fed on weekends and holidays through the Backpack program. Similarly, the Seniors Café program ensures elderly persons living in seniors centers are fed through daily food deliveries.
